This grey hat tactic of buying a link on a certain web site to increase your site has grown steadily over the past years. Some link auction site is now getting famous for their marketing strategies.

Buying links is a pure advertising practice that is why it is believe to be legal. But buying a link just to increase link popularity is an abused by getting a discount on links or penalizing the website.

In general, if you’re planning to purchase a link, you can do so. For the sake of increasing your site’s traffic, the same time making your link famous as an additional bonus.

Duplicate Content

Mostly, to increase fame of some affiliate programs, content duplication on the internet web has become a main problem for users and search engines. Wherein, both users have same sites dominating the position on top in SERP’s.

In order to fix to this problem most of the search engines is now filtering the web by searching for duplicate contents and eliminate the replica one. When the search engine failed to detect duplication, competitors of the duplicated site often report it to penalize the site’s ranking.
